The Recipe | Easy Mashed PotatoesI just read someone's cooking column and that guy cooked Mashed Potatoes and also added mayonnaise!?!? :-O and mashed with a potato masher until creamy!?!? :-O Almost ppl all complained that he shouldn't add it, and so did I. Mayonnaise to taste? - I doubt that. I've heard for a long, long, and a long time : use only MILK or CREAM, another 2 tablespoons butter, pepper and salt to taste. No mayonnaise cuz it makes your mashed potatoes taste bad or at least it's not necessary. Hmmm... talking about Mashed Potatoes, I'm proudly present my fav easy Mashed Potatoes recipes. ;-) All you have to do is get yourself into the kitchen, place potatoes in a large pot, cover with water, and add 1 tablespoon salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are easily pierced with a knife 20 - 25 minutes. Drain and return to pot. Ann buttermilk, sour cream, and butter, then mash with a potato masher until creamy. Season generously with salt and pepper and serve immediately. See? It's sooooo easy and also taste goooood! Thanks Martha Stewart for these amazing recipes. Btw, DO NOT eat it too much you guys. Remember "One moment on the lips, forever on the hips!" ;-P
2 Impressions In A RowI went to see WALL-E today and I got 2 impressions in a row! The first one was about WALL-E. Everything about this movie is great, especially its message like "we've become too dependent on machines" message. I love WALL-E, EVE, M-O but I love a little cockroach the most. I didn't kill one today just because of him. And PIXAR... wow… they did it again! But the second one, I didn’t prepare for it. But it made me happy sooooo much! In Thailand, we have a National Anthem which is played at 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. every day and we also have a King's Anthem which ppl will hear most often at the start of a movie when they go to the cinema. And today, while a King's Anthem was playing and we were standing as usual, I heard an American boy asking his dad..... “Why are we standing?” His dad didn’t say anything but smiled, and so did I. I smiled ‘cause that kid’s innocence made me think of our king, King Bhumibol Adulyadej. 2 years ago, Time magazine published about the 60th anniversary of the King's coronation. They said Thailand’s King knows that his role as King is to be a symbol, not a personality, precisely because (unlike a politician) he does not have to hustle and promote himself to win the people's favor. King Bhumibol happens to be hugely admired across Thailand, acclaimed as a musician, painter, patent-holding inventor. And, most of all, philanthropist, who constantly goes around his kingdom offering development projects to help his people. Hey, kiddo, do you really wanna know why we have to do that in the cinema? It’s because the mystique, the mystique of monarchy! ;-) |
